Bermondsey Community Nursery was established in 1983 and was one of the first community nurseries in the borough.  We provide a calm, happy and caring atmosphere and a stimulating and educational environment, for the children of families, living in the borough of Southwark.

The mission of Bermondsey Community Nursery is to make a significant difference to the lives of our children.  We seek to do this by instilling a lifelong love of learning; creating a challenging and motivating environment; being sensitive to their needs; working in partnership with parents/carers and thereby providing a valuable service to the community.

We believe that children, parents, staff and students who attend the nursery,  have much to offer each other by way of culture, ethnic and religious background. We aim to develop a positive self-image for all the children by taking care to ensure that books, toys and pictures show positive images of all backgrounds.

A committee of elected parents manages Bermondsey Community Nursery. The committee meet once a month to discuss nursery business. All parents are expected to attend the nursery's AGM.
